Macbeth’s wife reads his letter, fears his nature, and plots the murder of King Duncan. Drugged the castle grooms, tried to wash blood from her hands, and urged Macbeth to return the daggers Lady Macbeth urges Macbeth to appear jovial at the banquet and observes his distress over Banquo's ghost. Lady Macbeth is reported dead after a sleepwalking episode marked by obsessive hand‑washing and hallucinations.
